Welcome to the cats' page
Well okay. It might be kind of silly for the cats to have their very own web page, but people always ask about them and want to see pictures. Maybe folks are just humoring me, but gosh darn it--those little felines are pretty cute! Do I even need to warn you that this page is graphics intense?
~~ In Memory of Rocky ~~

Prior to the invasion of the feline "thundering herd" we spent 16 years in the companionship of a very special cat... Rocky spent the last 5 years of his life as a feline diabetic. You can see our tribute to him at: Rocky's Memorial . There is some great information on the Internet about animals with diabetes. If you are facing this diagnosis with a beloved pet I hope some of the links below will be of help.

The story of how there came to be four:
Lola magically appeared near the end of May, 1999. It was just about a week before Rocky died. She quickly decided that we belonged to her. Maybe it was the goldfish cracker I offered her that first day that did it. We were certainly not looking for a cat, but she must have known a good thing when she saw it, and over time she convinced us otherwise. As it was, she really helped with the healing process that went on after Rocky was gone. I remember reluctantly telling her, "You can stay. And, I will feed you. But, I will NOT fall in love with you." She looked at me and slowly blinked. She had my number all right!
Lola
Hobbes, Raven & Izzy arrived on our doorstep (quite literally) the end of June, 1999. They were feral kittens, approximately 6 weeks old. Their mother, a stray cat we called Willow, moved them into our garage. Willow was very thin and frail from trying to raise her kittens in the wild. We tried very hard to return her to health, but she died in August, 1999. It took a long time for us to gain the trust of the wild kittens, but eventually we won them over. By the time they were tame enough for us to find them new homes, it was obvious that they were already home.Sometimes cats just happen to you...

Did you know...
In seven years one cat and her young can produce 420,000 kittens.
In six years one female dog and her offspring can be the source of 67,000
puppies. Millions of unwanted pets are euthanized every year.
Please spay/neuter your pets.
Can't resist that kitten or puppy in the pet store window? Please think again! If you have room in your heart and home for a pet, please visit your local animal shelter instead, and adopt a wonderful new friend there.
