Democrats and Republicans don't want things to change.  They don't want to share their power.

While we wait for the Illinois legislature to adopt a budget, I wonder...
How many Illinois citizens know that Illinois Democrats spent a lot of time, energy, and money
to get Ralph Nader, Scott Summers, other Greens, and other party's candidates
kicked off the Illinois ballot for November?

On the other hand, when Illinois Republicans realized
that the Illinois Republican convention would be held too late to get George Bush on the Illinois ballot
(yes, really),
they asked Illinois Democrats
(who control both legislative houses and the governorship)
to change Illinois statutory law.
And incredibly, the Democrats did!!
