Mt. Vernon

Thanks to the efforts of Mt. Vernon/Jefferson County Bright and Beautiful,
a new recycling center opened in Mt. Vernon on Wednesday, May 21, 2003.
The center is located at 601 Bledsoe, next to Rick's Towing, just southeast of the intersection of Routes 37 and 148.

The recycling center is open at these times:
Wednesdays, noon to 6 p.m.
Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon.

The center will accept:

PLASTIC BOTTLES
(#1 & #2, meaning milk jugs, shampoo bottles, laundry detergent bottles, etc.)
Please rinse plastic bottles and please remove lids.
Please separate milk jugs from #1 from #2.
CARDBOARD
Please separate corrugated cardboard from pasteboard.
MIXED PAPER
(meaning magazines, office paper, and junk mail)
NEWSPAPER
 Please bundle newspapers with twine or in paper bags.
ALUMINUM CANS
STEEL CANS and TIN CANS

Please separate these items from each other, if possible.

open M-F 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sat 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Centralia

Centralia has an excellent recycling center,
located on the west side of town, on Highway 161 West,
one mile west of Wal Mart & across from Car City Chevrolet.

This recycling center accepts aluminum cans, steel cans, glass bottles and jars,
newspaper, computer paper, white office paper, mixed paper,
corrugated  cardboard, chipboard, magazines and catalogues, telephone books,
#1 plastics, #2 plastics, egg cartons, and eyeglasses.
